Accomplishments

  • Low-altitude survey (1,500 ft AGL) over the southeast coastal regions.
  • ATM, snow and Ku-band radars, and DMS were operated on the survey lines.
  • Ramp pass at Kangerlussuaq Airport at 1,000 ft AGL for ATM and radar calibration.
  • Conducted pitch maneuvers over the fjord for snow and Ku-band radar time stamp verification.

Mission Report (Michael Studinger, Mission Scientist)

 
This is a new mission. It flies a 40 km east-west grid pattern over the Geikie Peninsula, which are an extension of the north Greenland master grid pattern. This grid is offset by 20 km from the grid in the 2012 Geikie 03 and thus complements that mission by densifying the coverage.

The weather over the Geikie Plateau area was perfect. Some minor clouds around Kangerlussuaq on the ice cap, both on the way out and back did not cause any significant problems.

Data collection started 10:54 UTC and ended at 17:40 UTC. We collected 6.7 hours of science data.
