OIB - HU-25C Guardian 10/22/15 Science Report
Mission: Falcon Mopup South (priority: n/a)
This short mission is designed to refly the western portions of two east-west transects across the ice sheet originally from the high-priority "Southeast Coastal A" mission. The portions of these lines west of the ice divide were clouded the day we flew that mission, and those are the portions we are re-flying today. We extended the lines a few dozen kilometers to the east from the divide, in order to assure connectivity and overlap with the clear areas from the original flight.
Weather was once again quite good for this flight. The east-west survey lines were bookended by low clouds on both their east and west ends, but we successfully surveyed both lines in their entirety except for the fogged westernmost few kilometers of the northern line, for 99% data coverage.
All instruments performed well.
We conducted a ramp pass at 5000' MSL just prior to landing.
