Comments:
3rd HIWC Science Flight from KFLL. We obtained good science data at altitudes of 20kft, 29kft, 34kft, and 37kft. The flight started with data lines over the Atlantic Ocean and when those weather systems dissipated we flew to Gulf of Mexico just West of Southern Florida. Science instruments all performed well, except the Precipitation Imaging Probe (PIP) which stopped operating 3 hours into the flight and was not recoverable. Shortly after RTB, the aircraft co-pilot airspeed showed an erroneous value for about 6 minutes before recovering. This was likely do pitot icing. Engines performed well. The aircraft is in good shape for the next science mission.
