Comments: | Science flight #13 was flown to the Gulf of Mexico to target Invest 93L. An east to west ladder pattern with 7 deg east-west legs and 1.5 deg north-south legs. Approx. 1 hr after take-off, Invest 93L was upgraded to TS Cindy. The 1st east-west leg was extended 1 deg before turning southbound. After turn back east, Science identified N26, W90 as the Center of circulation for TS Cindy. One complete propeller pattern was flown around this point with multiple sondes dropped. At completion of pattern, climb to FL390 and head back to base. On transit back, we delayed at N25 20, W87 to fly convection as directed by on-board Science team, then RTB'd. Fifteen dropsondes in total were launched with all reaching sea surface. All instrument teams reported satisfactory data acquisitions. |
