Initial CH4 and CO from Goddard CTM. 33 Output from the Goddard trajectory chemistry model is provided for com- parison with flight data. Ten-day isentropic back trajectories from the flight measurement positions are calculated using the Goddard assimilated meteorological fields. Constituent mixing ratios are initialized from data ("Input" variables) as much as possible: NOy, CH4, H2O, O3, and CO. Cly and Bry are set in correlation with measured N2O. Initial Cly parti- tioning is set by measured HCl with the remainder in ClONO2. Initial NOy partitioning is set by measured NOx, ClONO2 from Cly, small fractions in N2O5 and HO2NO2, and the remainder in HNO3. Initial CH3OOH is from the Goddard 3D CTM and H2O2 is fit to measured O3. Other species are initially zero or partitioned in instantaneous steady state. Measured aerosol number is conserved along with H2SO4 obtained from measured volume at vapor pressure equilibrium. The special comment field denotes exceptions to this initialization procedure. Principal investigators of the various instruments should be consulted concerning measurements of the "Inputs". Photolysis rates are obtained from a table look-up based on albedo, overhead ozone, solar zenith, pressure, and temperature (for cross sections). Albedo is determined from TOMS reflectivities along the back trajectory. Overhead ozone is determined by scaling climatological profiles and TOMS total ozone to match overhead ozone from CPFM measurements. Chemical integration uses reaction rates from the JPL 97-4 compendium. The chemical mechanism is designed for stratospheric conditions and output below about 200 mb is excluded. "Output" quantities represent results at the end of the 10-day trajectory calculation corresponding to the ER-2 flight track point and time. We have attempted to output most quantities of interest.
