Sampling with PALMS CVI (cloud particle) inlet. Data correspond to ice residuals sampled on a given flight research flight. One grid was collected on this research flight in the sub-micrometer range. Approximately 10% of the grid were analyzed using the MIT JEOL 2010F FEG TEM. Single particles are sized and classified into the types shown below. Other data products, including coating and mixing state, are available - contact the PI. Size and concentration products: AverageINSize, INStandardDeviation, INConcentration The average concentration of ice residuals in number per liter and the average residual size and standard deviation in micrometers. Further data including enhancement factors – contact the PI. Fractional concentration products: SeaSaltFrac, MineralFrac, MetallicFrac, SootFrac, BioBurnFrac, SulfOrgNitFrac, UnclassFrac The fractions (0 to 1) are the number fraction of particles that are identified in each category. Criteria are available - contact the PI. 18 PI_CONTACT_INFO: DJCziczo@mit.edu & Karl.Froyd@noaa.gov & Daniel.M.Murphy@noaa.gov PLATFORM: NASA WB-57 LOCATION: MACPEX, Houston, TX ASSOCIATED_DATA: N/A INSTRUMENT_INFO: Electron Microscope Impactor collects particles for off line analysis of ice residual single particle composition and size DATA_INFO: Units: Conc products: ice residual abundance in number per liter sampled.
