CoSSIR is a millimeter to submillimeter-wave radiometer which measures the upwelling brightness temperature in 12 channels: 183.31+-1.0, 183.31+-3.0, 183.31+-6.6, 220.00+-2.5 GHz, 380.20+-0.8, 380.20+-1.8, 380.20+-3.3, 380.20+-6.2 GHz 487.25+-0.7, 487.25+-1.2, 487.25+-3.3, 640.00+-2.5 GHz All channels have horizontal polarization except for the 487 GHz channels which have vertical polarization. CoSSIR was cross track scanning for CRYSTAL-FACE, but only retrievals for the nadir view are in this file. Times with roll angle greater than 8 degrees are removed. A Bayesian algorithm is used to perform the retrievals by combining the CoSSIR measurements with prior information about the range of atmospheric profiles, ice cloud vertical geometry, and ice cloud microphysics (the relationship between ice water content, particle size, and temperature). These retrievals use prior information from 25 CRYSTAL-FACE Miami and PARSL radiosondes, the Cloud Radar System for cloud height and thickness statistics for deep anvils, and the HVPS, 2D-C, FSSP, and CVI instruments on the Citation aircraft for ice cloud microphysics. Ice particle scattering properties are calculated for random aggregates of hexagonal plates, aggregates of plates and columns, random aggregates of solid spheres, and spherical "snow" with 0.1 volume fraction. The minimum chi^2 below is a measure of the brightness temperature distance between the CoSSIR Tb vector and the closest profile in the retrieval database, and hence is a measure of the validity of the retrieval. Caveats: The CoSSIR Tb data for frequencies above 300 GHz is rather noisy and sometimes drifts to unphysical values. All pixels are assumed to be cloudy (i.e. no cloud detection is done), but pixels with IWP<100 g/m^2 are probably in the noise. Pixels with very high IWP undoubtedly are precipitating, but precipitation is not in the retrieval algorithm model. The retrievals for the portions of the July 1 and 30 flights far from south Florida are suspect due to incorrect prior information.
