Mean age of the air in years from the tropical tropopause is calculated using tropospheric trends from Geller et al., [1997] and a formula from Volk et al., [1997]. Total chlorine calculations are based on total chlorine from Montzka et al., [1996] and model generated correlations from Woodbridge et al. [1995] are used for the missing chlorine species, HCFC-22 and CH3Cl. Total bromine calculations are from Wamsley et al., [1997] where missing bromine organic species (CH3Br, halon-2402, halon-1301, CH2Cl2, and CH2BrCl) are calculated from correlations of NCAR WAS data versus CFC-11 are used. All values derived from theta < 380 were excluded, because of influence from the troposphere. All calculations of total halogen and inorganic halogen assume no inorganic input from the troposphere (Cly, Bry=0). References: Elkins, J. W., D. W. Fahey, J. M. Gilligan, G. S. Dutton, T. J.
