Except for browsing the archives, all operations use a sequence of HTML forms to collect information, and the final result is usually displayed in a separate window. Since some browsers overlay the two windows, the top window may have to be moved to see the window underneath.
Several of the operations attempt to automatically determine your operating system, so that text files can be appropriately converted before they are downloaded to your computer. If your operating system cannot be determined then you will be asked to supply that information. If you grow weary of continually supplying that information, or if you think your operating system is being determined incorrectly, please send me a note describing the problem and I will try to correct it.
A note of caution concerning the use of these operations is that the programs which drive them can get confused and produce errors if a form is submitted out of its normal sequence. Your browser probably has the capability to go back through previously displayed pages, but if you use this feature to re-submit a form that is out of its normal sequence then you may get an error message and have to start over.
